Amazon Reports $4 Billion Investment in Fresno County Since 2010
Amazon announced that it has invested over $4 billion in Fresno County since 2010, according to the company’s 2025 Economic Impact Report released recently. The e-commerce giant operates over 850,000 square feet of fulfillment center and operational space in the county, employing more than 4,000 workers.
The local investment is part of Amazon’s broader $240 billion commitment to California since 2010. Kathy Duong, Amazon’s Northern California public policy manager, described the Central Valley as the “backbone” of the company’s logistical network, citing the region’s strategic location and infrastructure for moving products throughout the Western United States.
Revenue from Fresno’s Amazon fulfillment center has grown from $93.7 million in 2017 to $152.7 million in 2025. Duong noted that items moving through the Fresno facility generate sales tax revenue locally because the facility serves as the point-of-sale purchase location for products shipped through the center.
The company partners with local organizations including the Central California Food Bank and offers workforce development programs such as Career Choice, which prepays educational expenses for employees pursuing training in high-demand career fields from day one of employment. Amazon’s local workforce expands seasonally during events like Prime Day and Cyber Monday.
