Diane Pearce serves on the Clovis City Council and as Mayor Pro Tem, first elected in December 2022. She co-owns an events and entertainment production business with her husband, previously worked for then-Congressman George Radanovich and as a Clovis Unified substitute teacher, and served on the Fresno County Civil Service Commission and a Clovis public safety advisory committee before her election; she holds a degree in political science and international relations from UC Davis and has led local Republican women’s political organizations. She has cited negotiating longer-term waste-hauling contracts to lower resident costs and growing Clovis police and fire staffing among her accomplishments in office.
Pearce has taken public stances on cultural issues, including challenging library materials she described as “oversexualized and deeply inappropriate,” pushing for “In God We Trust” signage in council chambers, and opposing transgender athletes’ participation in a state high school track and field championship held in Clovis. She has announced she will not seek re-election to the council, instead planning a run for the Fresno County Board of Supervisors’ District 5 seat contingent on incumbent Nathan Magsig winning a state Senate race and vacating the position.
