Multi-Agency Operation Nets 69 Arrests, Seizes 73 Firearms in Fresno and Central Valley

A multi-month law enforcement operation targeting criminal street gangs operating across Fresno, Tulare, and Madera Counties resulted in 69 felony arrests and the seizure of 73 firearms, California Attorney General Rob Bonta announced on June 1, 2026.

The operation, dubbed “Hands Down,” began in March 2026 when law enforcement agencies launched an investigation into a criminal street gang operating across the three counties. Investigators uncovered what they described as an extensive criminal conspiracy involving drug and firearms trafficking orchestrated by gang members and associates.

In addition to the arrests and firearm seizures, investigators prevented seven violent crimes, solved two homicides, and confiscated methamphetamine, fentanyl, cocaine, and ammunition. All 69 suspects have been charged in a criminal complaint on various drug and firearms trafficking charges.

The operation was a joint effort involving the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office, Federal Bureau of Investigation, California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, Kingsburg Police Department, Sanger Police Department, Homeland Security Investigations, California Highway Patrol, Reedley Police Department, and Selma Police Department. The Fresno County District Attorney’s Office will prosecute the cases.
