Alexandra M. Macedo, a Republican, represents California’s 33rd Assembly District, covering portions of Fresno, Kings, and Tulare counties, having won the November 2024 general election with nearly 63% of the vote and taken office in December 2024. Before the legislature, she ran an agricultural and environmental consulting firm, Macedo Environmental Consulting, with her mother, providing compliance and project-management services to farmers, and her family has ties to the Tulare Sales Yard livestock market. She has been a vocal critic of state high-speed rail decisions affecting the Central Valley, calling one routing announcement “an absolute disgrace and disrespectful to the Central Valley,” and has raised concerns about proposed state redistricting maps. In 2025, the Almond Alliance named her its “Almond Champion of the Year” for work on water infrastructure and wildfire prevention.
